We have been reading There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom by Loius Sachar. This week we wrote the first conversation between the protagonist, Bradley Chalkers, and the new school counsellor, Carla.
We looked at how to punctuate speech, including how to use it for effect, aswell as trying to convey what the characters are like from how they speak nd act. Have a look at some of our fantastic dialogue below and comment - what do you learn about Bradley and Carla?
We also wrote a letter from Jeff to Bradley encouraging him to go see Carla. Then we wrote back to Jeff as Bradley, again we aimed to become the characters. What does the presentation of Bradley's letter tell you about him?
